Nigel B Jamieson

Nigel studied life drawing at the Dunedin Polytechnic for three years. Otherwise largely self taught, he began showing his work at group and solo exhibitions in the mid 1970s. He currently lives in Lyttelton and divides his time working as a painter and as tutor at the Christchurch Polytechnic in joinery.

His landscape paintings incorporate Symbolic Realism & Surrealism.  As a fisherman and a tramper and someone who loves the outdoors, he considers the conservation and protection of our waterways to be of great importance.

Life Drawing is an ongoing interest and he manages the weekly sessions with the Wednesday Group based in the Arts Centre.
